About Manitoba Maple Burl
Manitoba Maple Burl, also known as Box Elder or Ash-leaved Maple, is commonly found in North America. Its 3D grain structure yields a look that is truly unique.
In its natural state, Manitoba Maple Burl is softer, weaker, and lighter than almost all other species of maple. Therefore, stabilizing it allows this spectacular stock to become adequate for applications where hardwood is necessary.
The process of stabilizing wood entails removing the existing natural resins and air, then introducing an acrylic resin into the wood. This process also allows for producing wood stocks in colors not found in nature.
